If you are like me, there have been times in your life when you considered the possibility of operating a home based business.

Why? In actuality, the reasons vary for all of us. 

Some of us are driven by the desire for additional income, greater freedom, upgrading life style, retirement prep or our children's education.  On the other hand, some are driven by an entrepreneurial spirit while still others by the new friends made while networking.

Personally, I am a person driven by a desire to control as much of my own destiny as possible.  Though I have managed to accomplish much via my education and professional career, something was always missing from the equation. 

Basically, I always felt at risk since I was working for someone else and therefore lacked a true sense of security.


Over the years, I was introduced to several MLM/Network Marketing companies and found the basic idea behind those opportunities interesting and exciting.  As a matter of fact, I was so compelled by two of the companies; I enthusiastically became a distributor in each one.

Though the final result was the same in both cases (I quit), I never stopped believing in the potential in those companies and the MLM/NM business model. 

The main problem: my ineffectiveness in recruiting given the tools available during those times (early 1970’s and late 1980’s) or in other words, my main obstacle was the inability to connect with like-minded people when limited to traditional network marketing prospecting methods alone.
