Confessions of a Former MLM Marketer
Today, January 20, 2009, is one of those special days in our lives where we truly get to see history in the making. The grand old U. S. of A. consummated the election of Barack Obama as he took the oath of office earlier today marking a major milestone in America’s history.
This follows his inspirational campaign that focused on hope and change for a country and our role in the global community. Even though the mood is somewhat squelched by factors such as the economy and global unrest, I still feel a strong under-current of hope and prosperity for all that chose to adapt and act rather than wallow in the negative.
Not only was the under-current felt, it also resonates perfectly with my renewed sense of understanding, respect and commitment to succeed with an endeavor halted long ago. You see it wasn’t stopped due to a lack of belief in the endeavor, it was halted due to a lack of persistence and perseverance and giving into the misplaced advice of the “nay-sayers”.
You see, I am a former (and I guess closet), old-school, MLM marketer.
In the past, I let the frustrations of negative responses, misapplied business building techniques and harassing claims of MLM pyramid schemes and MLM is a scam undo my desire and kill my drive. That all started to change, however, when a spark re-ignited the flame several months back and it grew into an undying commitment to complete the journey once abandoned.
So now I draw upon the lingering energies of today’s phenomenal events to propel this renewed endeavor as Buzz from “Toy Story” best put it … “To infinity and beyond”!
